Seasons of...Lo-ooooo-lo lo ooooove....

OK, I cannot get the song "Seasons of Love" from the musical and now cinematic production of "RENT" out of my head. I must say I am looking forward to catching it on the big screen (as a reward for when I cross something off my 'major things to do' list), and hope that no one gets super annoyed when the spirit tempts me to just sing out loud. And that's really the only song I know from the whole thing. I am impressed with the movie cast. I'm sorry, but the guy from Law and Order who can also sing and has that killer smile? Bring it!

"Five Hundred Twenty Five Thousand Six Hundred Minutes / How Do You Measure, Measure a Year..." Measure your life in love.

By the way, the pedagocial uses for that song for ESL courses (counting, articulation, singing in rounds, etc.) are endless.

I hope my neighbors are not tired of hearing this from my comptuer. They probably think I was a 'drama person' in high school or something. Oh well, the guy downstairs plays piano and I don't gripe.

Oh, and "Walk the Line"? Fabuluatious.

Don't go expecting to hear a replication of Johnny Cash and June Carter -- go expecting to be wowed by the sights and sounds and then leave, realizing how much of an impact Johnny and June had on the American songbook and on each other. And three cheers to Reese and Joaquin, they deserve all alcolades. I will need to see it again at some point.
